Job Title: Shop Supervisor
Location: Hayward, CA
Reports To: Fleet Manager / Operations Manager
The Shop Supervisor oversees daily maintenance and repair operations for a fleet of luxury buses. This role ensures high-quality vehicle service, cleanliness, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to support a premium travel experience.
Supervise daily operations of the maintenance shop, including mechanical repairs, diagnostics, inspections, and detailing.
Schedule and assign work to technicians, mechanics, and cleaners to maintain an efficient workflow.
Monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal fleet condition and minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate service records, logs, and compliance documentation.
Ensure all vehicles meet DOT, CHP, and other regulatory safety standards.
Inspect completed work for quality control and adherence to company standards.
Order parts and supplies, manage inventory, and control shop tools and equipment.
Collaborate with dispatch and operations to prioritize urgent repairs or trip-ready units.
Train, coach, and evaluate shop staff to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
Respond to emergency repairs or road calls as needed.
High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
3+ years of experience in a maintenance or repair shop (bus, truck, or automotive preferred).
1+ year of supervisory or lead mechanic experience.
Knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, and luxury bus components.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to use fleet management and diagnostic software.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various shop conditions.
Capable of standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
